The Mexico International Volleyball Tournament (previously known as “Estero Beach”) is held the last weekend in June in Baja, Mexico – just a short drive south of San Diego. The tournament, which began in 1974, often hosts several thousand amateur and professional players and is typically considered the largest beach volleyball tournament in the world.
Players do not register with a partner; the tournament committee assigns one to them based on a weighed draw.
Mex Volleyball is famous (or, as some would say, infamous) for its festive atmosphere both on and off the courts.
Rosarito has great places to stay within walking distance of the tournament. The party continues after the tournament in various hot tubs!

The 2024 MEX Volleyball tournament was a great success! With 239 men’s teams and 146 women’s teams we had a total of 770 players. Congrats to winners Luke Lentin & Kenny Lentin and Olivia Asprey & Michelle Degiacomi!
